Welcome to the Portable Planner API! This service predicts mutual satellite visibility windows between two Earth stations and provides enhanced visualization tools.
This API implements rate limiting to ensure fair usage and system stability:
Computes mutual visibility passes between two locations for specified satellites.
Required Parameters:
sat: Satellite name from the TLE setlocator1: Maidenhead grid locator for first observerlocator2: Maidenhead grid locator for second observerOptional Parameters:
min_elevation1: Minimum elevation for locator1 (default: 0.0°)min_elevation2: Minimum elevation for locator2 (default: 0.0°)start: Start of time range (ISO 8601 UTC)end: End of time range (ISO 8601 UTC)Example:
/passes?sat=AO-91&locator1=IO87&locator2=FN31&start=2025-05-01T00:00:00Z&end=2025-05-05T00:00:00Z&min_elevation1=10
Generates an enhanced dual SVG radar/compass view of a satellite's sky path as seen from two locations.
Required Parameters:
sat: Satellite namelocator1: First observer's Maidenhead locatorlocator2: Second observer's Maidenhead locatorstart: Start of pass (ISO 8601 UTC)end: End of pass (ISO 8601 UTC)Visualization Features:
Example:
/compass?sat=AO-91&locator1=IO87&locator2=FN31&start=2025-05-01T12:34:00Z&end=2025-05-01T12:40:00Z
